Scent-sational [ comfort zone ]
Of all five senses, smell is most closely linked to memory. When stimulated for beneficial reasons, the sense of smell is a powerful ally to realign the nervous and endocrine systems and to render the mind and body ready for a relaxing, rebalancing experience.
A smell can take you straight back to a specific moment in time, provoking an intensely positive or negative response. A hint of a particular perfume can remind you of someone you haven’t seen for years, whilst a quick sniff of tequila can take you right back to the dodgy haunts you visited throughout your early twenties. (We’re not here to judge – we’ve all been there!)
At the Devonshire Spa, there’s no shortage of beautiful scents floating through our peaceful treatment rooms, which we’re very grateful for (no tequila though, luckily). Not only do they smell amazing, but the ingredients used within the different products all also have positive qualities which are beneficial to your health and wellbeing. We took it upon ourselves to carry out a quick round-up of some of the sweet-smelling products used by Devonshire Spa supplier [ comfort zone ].
Remedy: a great product line for those with sensitive or damaged skin, the Mexican Hyssop used within this range helps to reduce skin irritation and redness. A part of the mint family, Mexican Hyssop can also be used to help sooth respiratory problems such as coughs and colds.
Sublime Skin: this great range which is designed to restore the skin’s architecture is gently fragranced with the subtle scent of peonies. As well as being beautiful, these stunning flowers are also said to help heal inflammation too.
Hydramemory: this nourishing and hydrating product range is a god send for thirsty skin. Including watermelon rind which is packed full of antioxidants and which can help to reduce the effects of free radicals, it’s also scented with apple which may help to control blood pressure, lessen migraine pain and help you lose weight.
Renight: [ comfort zone’s ] overnight recovery product line, Renight is full of beneficial natural ingredients, including macadamia oil, goji berries and tomato. Coupled with a blend of precious nourishing oils, Renight repairs the skin from free radical damage and reinforces the natural defence. On top of this, tomato is said to help to tighten pores, soothe sunburn and reduce acne.
Tranquillity: this aromatic bath and body system contains an exclusive blend of cedarwood, sweet orange and geranium oil that help you manage stress and rediscover a sense of profound tranquillity and wellbeing. The scent of geranium oil is known to enhance concentration, improve cognitive function and balance the emotions, making this a great range to help reduce stress.
Aromasoul: offering a delicate aroma, this Mediterranean-influenced range features scents of lemon which promotes concentration and has calming and clarifying properties that are helpful when you’re feeling angry, anxious or run down; juniper which has a calming and grounding effect, as well as sage which is said to help ease insomnia.
