Give your skin a workout with Kabat Massage

You may not have heard about the benefits of Kabat Massage, but you’ll definitely want to.

Often described as a ‘gym for the skin,’ thanks to its physical participation of both the therapist and the receiver, it’s a complete wellness workout, designed to stimulate the senses and improve circulation. What’s more, you won’t have to do any squats or burpees during this wonderful workout!

Developed in the 1940’s by an American neurophysiologist and physician called Dr. Herman Kabat, the massage uses the natural reflexes of the receiver to assist in relaxation by incorporating stretching, resistance and manual pressure to help improve muscle strength, stability, mobility and coordination. The massage aims to mimic natural movements and spiral and diagonal patterns to ultimately relax each muscle group and improve the circulation of the muscle tissue.

By performing this cycle of rhythmic movements, the senses are stimulated and the receiver feels a greater sense of awareness and connection to the body through the mind.
